Brad Pitt reveals he's a Lionel Messi fan after being blown away by Argentina star at World Cup 2022

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt has revealed that he is a Lionel Messi fan and has opened up how the Argentina captain's showing at the 2022 World Cup. The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner did exactly what was expected of him all his career as he led La Albiceleste to their third world title. The 'Fight Club' star revealed his admiration for Inter Miami's captain.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Messi has always had the highest expectations placed on his shoulders since he grew to fame with Barcelona; however, the biggest pressure that he faced came on the international phase as he was expected to emulate the great Diego Maradona and lead Argentina to at least one World Cup. While his early career with La Albiceleste failed to bear any fruit, it was the latter part of his career that saw him truly rise into the 'throng of immortals' as once described by the great Peter Drury.

    Messi and Argentina managed to win four straight international titles, including two Copa Americas; however, it was their performance at the 2022 World Cup was their true crowning moment as they lit Qatar alight as they managed to get Messi to his final dream. Pitt, who stars as Sonny Hayes in the upcoming F1 Movie, recently revealed his admiration for Messi as he talked about being blown away by the seven-time Ballon d'Or winners' performance.

    On LADbible's Agree to Disagree, Pitt was discussing with his F1 Movie co-star Damson Idris about the the best athlete in the world and the latter brought up Messi's name to the table by calling him 'amazing ' and 'an alien'. Pitt said: "Hey, he's amazing, man! I love him. As a tourist, I would jump in and see him. It took him a long time to perform in the great show (the World Cup). Then, the last one (he showed up). Oh did he, and I go, okay, I understand."
